BigPay Review- Convenient Prepaid Mastercard

Good day guys.

I've been using BigPay for more than a year now and have been decently happy with it's service. Firstly, if you're here just to get the free RM 10 for signing up, use code 'N8KIJ5DJ7R' when you sign up  after downloading the app from Google Play or Apple App store.

BigPay is basically a Prepaid Mastercard by AirAsia which acts like a normal credit card. This card is extremely useful for people who want to carry out online purchases such as online shopping, hotel bookings and flight bookings, but do not want to commit to a credit card or not wanting to expose your credit card details. The good thing about this card is that you will not be overcharged for anything as you can top up the exact amount needed for purchase.

I use this card  for all my transactions online. You can easily add funds to this card via the app by using credit cards, online bank transfer or cash top up at  7-eleven. I personally top up my BigPay card using my CIMB cash Rebate Mastercard to get cashback and then use my BigPay for my daily transactions. For example, if I'm planning to top up RM 100 into my Touch n Go e-wallet, I first top up my Big Pay card using my credit card and then top up my Touch n Go E-wallet with my BigPay card. You must be wondering why go through all these hassle? The reason for doing so is to get multiple layers of cashback. This is because BigPay gives 1 Big Point for every RM 30 spent (used to be RM 20 for 1 Big Point previously). By doing this, I'm able to receive cashback into my credit card as well as Big Points. However, you can only Top Up a maximum of  RM 1000 into your BigPay card using your credit card per month. There's no limit for online bank transfer however.

I think the reason for this is that Big Pay only charges RM 6 per transaction for ATM withdrawal in Malaysia and RM 10 per transaction overseas. This is dramatically lower than my CIMB credit card which charges a minimum of RM 15 or more for ATM withdrawals, depending on the amount. Some people misuse this function by using their credit card to top up their BigPay card and then withdraw, hence the RM 1000 credit card top up limit.

Another plus point of this card is that it allows you to track your daily expenses and categorizes your spending into different categories such as transport, retail etc. to make it easier to view.

Other advantages of BigPay are :

1. Being accepted anywhere in the world as it is a Mastercard

2. Able to receive and send money among BigPay users anywhere in the world.

3. Zero processing fees on AirAsia (useful for booking flights as AirAsia normally charges up to RM 24 Per booking for flights)

4. Various discounts on AirAsia for baggage and food

5. Practically free.- actually you'll earn an extra RM 10 when you sign up with the code ' 'N8KIJ5DJ7R'( You'll have to pay RM 20 to sign up but then you get RM 20 back into your BigPay account)

6. Alternative to credit cards. I use this for Netflix and Amazon prime as well. Sometimes when I don't want to watch Netflix for a particular month, I just don't add funds to my BigPay account and Netflix will be unable to charge me.

7. Convenient app for all transactions. If you're an anti-social person like me, you'll love this card as you will never have to go to a bank to meet people if here are any problems. Their live chat function is pretty good and efficient in solving problems faced.

Disadvantages

1. There is a RM 1000 top up limit if you use credit card to top up your BigPay account. There's no  limit however for online bank transfer.

2. Relatively stingy with BigPoints. You will earn 1 BigPoint for every RM 30 spent. In comparison, if you have Samsung Pay, you can earn 40 BigPoints for every transactions, no matter how little you spend.

Getting Started

1. Download the BigPay app from Google Play or Apple App Store. Alternatively, you can click this link to install the app.

2. After downloading the app, follow the instructions and enter your details which include you name, identity card details, phone number and address. You will have to Pay RM20 which will be deposited into your BigPay account for you to spend. (practically free!)

3. Don't forget to use the code 'N8KIJ5DJ7R' when you sign up to get an additional free RM 10.

4. After submitting your details, eagerly wait for your card to arrive by mail. It should arrive in 5 - 7 working days. My card arrived after 3 days.

5. You're now ready to use the card. Your card would be preloaded with RM 30 to be used.

6. Top up your BigPay when funds are low by launching the BigPay app and clicking on top up (the '+' button next to the balance). Enter the amount desired and select method to top up. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the process and your balance will be reflected immediately.

Conclusion

BigPay is an extremely convenient way to pay for online purchases without having a physical credit or debit card. You technically get free RM 10 when you sign up for this card using the code N8KIJ5DJ7R. It is also a good way for you to monitor your spending and also to earn BigPoints to be used when you're able to fly again via Air Asia. ðŸ˜Š

Wahed Invest- Shariah Compliant Robo-Advisor for Passive Income

Good day Guys! Hope you're doing well. Today I would like to talk about one of the popular Robo-advisor in Malaysia, Wahed Invest. Firstly, for those looking for referral code for singing up to earn bonus, my Wahed Invest referral code is ' devvij1 '.  I'm sure some of you are asking " what the hell is a Robo-advisor?". According to Wikipedia; " Robo-advisors or robo-advisers are a class of financial adviser that provide financial advice or investment management online with moderate to minimal human intervention. They provide digital financial advice based on mathematical rules or algorithms ." It's basically like buying a hamper from the supermarket. You get different items (portfolio) when you pay for the hamper, in hopes of getting a collection of good products (returns).  As I like to keep things as simple as possible, the way I understand this is that Robo-advisors are basically similar to Unit Trust whereby you invest money this app and b...
